Had a pretty good holiday. A friend came to visit for a few days. We generally had a good time, just relaxed and chatted a lot, read and listened to music. Not much was open for Xmas, but we did get out and walk around a bit. We enjoyed lattes in the cafe and the lights on the street. On Xmas eve, we made some yummy pasta, and on Xmas Day, we went out to a pretty restaurant for a good dinner. I was sad when she left, but I look forward to visiting her sometime this year for fish and chips.

New Year's Eve was good. Took my new book to a little restaurant, had delicious food, just read all night, had beer and coffee. Then walked around a bit, had more beer, then headed home. There were lots of people out and about, tossing fireworks, so it was a little wild, but I eventually made it home in one piece. First thing anyone said to me in 2010 was "Najlepsiej", which means "all the best". There were some guys carousing on the metro, drinking beer, and one of them said that as he went out the door.
